• Why do I write about cinema?

What is your photographic approach ?

I started taking pictures 9 years ago. Being trained as a webdesigner, I needed some graphic material to work with for my layouts. Photography seemed like the perfect medium, as I couldn’t draw in any way.

But soon enough (actually from the very first picture I shot), I felt the urge of keeping visual traces of everything that would catch my attention. It all started with the hours of commuting I was spending each day going to work, that I started to document. I wanted to understand what was hiding behind these mute faces. To contextualize and make explicit the global indifference as a result of an overabundance of differences, the social suffocation caused by the density of a big capital region like Paris.

From hunting pictures at first, I slowly got more eager and eager to create them. Being more and more passionate about contemporary art photography, I now tend to look for more abstract forms of art, but still in my direct daily life surroundings. Photography has this amazing capability of giving the illusion of truth and reality. Playing with these concepts while playing with light is what I enjoy most.
