• Why do I write about cinema?

I like to think the critic’s work as a prolongation of the film. To me, films are the starting point, the basis on which I built and structure what it shows about the political world, the craft of the art and, most of all, the essence of humanity. Films are not a dead end where everything is said at the end credits. Like every piece of art, it lives in the audience’s mind, somewhere outside the representation. So if we don’t talk or think about it, it doesn’t exist and art is mute.

I write about cinema because I truly believe it can change one’s mind. Surely not an entire nation, but among the mass someone might be deeply touch and take action. And the writing is here to extend the flame before the consumption hysteria blows it.

Also, I write about cinema because it’s a cool job.
