On a cold and silent night, in a flurry of snow, two lost souls get on a suburban train and find themselves at the last stop. Hanna and Man-Soo are from completely different universes - she is a lecturer, he works as a subway conductor - but they are both in the throes of a personal crisis. As the situation progressively brings them together, we are drawn ever closer into their troubles, with a restrained emotion.
For his second feature film, Park Heung-Sik focuses on the loneliness and absence of true communication between people in an anonymous urban world, and humorously deals with the strong pressures and strict traditions in Korean society.
He manages to create a modest, metallic and velvety universe as a mirror to the character’s feelings.
