This is a small project in response to Live Storytelling, a concept presented at the 2010 IDFA festival in the DocLab - Live section. Following the huge succes of Live Storytelling with storytelling-shows This American Life and The Moth in the United States (people telling their personal real life stories on stage as the most unmediated form of documentary), this hybrid would not have come into existence if it wasn’t for the influence of podcast technology and social media. The concept was introduced in The Netherlands by Micha Wertheim, under the title Echt Gebeurd (It Truly Happened), and has now found its way to the festival.
Inspired by this idea, Nisimazine decided to ask all its interviewees during the festival to tell a true story from their personal lives. We will be putting their stories on the net via single-shot, uncut clips.
